ABI: Global Telematics Penetration Levels to Reach 23 Percent by 2015

Penetration of consumer and commercial telematics systems in passenger cars and commercial vehicles respectively will evolve from less than 10 percent in 2010 to 23 percent in 2015, according to a study by ABI Research.


20 States Committed to Introduce eCall

Five more states have signed the EU memorandum of understanding to the introduction of the automatic emergency call system eCall: Belgium, Denmark, Luxembourg, Malta and Romania. Overall, 20 states have commited to the implementation of the full-coverage positioning system according to auto and travel clubs Germany (ARCD)  enabling emergency services to quickly arrive at the location of an accident. 


Brazilian SVT Mandate

The Brazilian court has decided that from 1st July 2010 all vehicles in Brazil should be equipped with a SVT (stolen vehicle tracking) system, see press release. This creates a significant upturn for the ML-C system platform in products for the Brazilian market, which is estimated at 6 million units per year.

GSMA Mobile World Congress 2010

Moni Malek and Christian Herberg of ML-C visited the GSMA Mobile World Congress in Barcelona on February 16 and 17 receiving a lot of encouragement for ML-C's GG-1 product definition and its application to the e-call market.
